Limited Edition of Print No. 13 – Tubs

Tubs were used for transporting coal and supplies underground. The dangers associated with moving coal by tubs meant lighting was vital. It was in the early 1930s when the familiar cap lamp was introduced; enabling the miner to direct the light wherever it was required.

The bronze plaque was sponsored by the Friends of Littleton Colliery.
