So many people had sent us their memories and stories of pit life – but there wasn’t room to include them all in A Lasting Tribute.
They all show aspects of life within the pit communities and were worthy of being published – so the book “Memories” was produced. It was never meant to be sold but rather as a reference book and so was gifted to all local libraries within the area, to local history groups and to the British Library. The book is available within all of those establishments.
