Contact UsLimited Edition of Print No. 12 – Tubs
Tubs were used extensively in the 19th and 20th centuries for transporting coal and supplies underground. They were robust and low tech with braking being achieved by inserting a length of wood or metal called a locker into the wheel spokes. They are an iconic artefact of British mining.
The bronze plaque is sponsored by Edward & Caroline Home & family
