Limited Edition of Print No. 10 – Tubs
For hundreds of years tubs were used for transporting coal and supplies underground. Wheeled, open top trucks which ran on rails, they were originally small enough to be moved around the mine manually. Later they would be linked together in trains and hauled by pit ponies and, following that, by mechanical means.
The bronze plaque was sponsored by Lea Hall & Brereton Collieries Memorial Society.
